LGA To Design New Veterans Home in Cleveland/Bradley County

The march toward building a veterans home in Bradley County is progressing at a half-step. Though progress is slow, the latest movement forward came earlier this week when the state selected The Lewis Group Architects of Knoxville to design the Cleveland Bradley County State Veterans Home. Alcoa City School Board Approves New High School Site, Floor, Design Plans

After more than seven years of preplanning and design work, the new Alcoa High School has been unveiled.

During Thursday evening’s meeting, Alcoa Director of Schools Brian Bell presented the school’s floor plan, site plan and overall design. Board members unanimously approved the three items.   

Alcoa City Schools has identified 32.4 acres southeast of Faraday Street for the school’s site. The new Alcoa High School is being placed where the softball and baseball fields are currently located.

Morristown West High School Entering Design Phase

LGA has started design work on the multi-phase Addition/Renovation at Morristown Hamblen West High School. Phase One includes interior finish & electrical upgrades at the existing Auditorium as well as work at the existing football field/track complex. The exact scope of Phase Two has not been finalized but will include a 2-story, 16-classroom addition as well as building systems upgrades

Jefferson County High School Headed into Construction Administration

LGA is currently in the Construction Administration phase on the new 750 student freshman academy in Jefferson County. The new academy is scheduled for completion in late Spring of 2013 with occupancy for Fall 2013. Funding has also been approved for a major renovation/addition at the existing high school. Preliminary plans and budgets have been developed.
