Interior Architecture

The field of Interior Architecture combines the architect's knowledge of construction, structures, mechanical systems, and code requirements with an interior designer's emphasis on the design of interior spaces, including programming, space planning, finishes, and furniture selection.

Studies have shown that the efficiency and effectiveness of employees is influenced, to a significant degree, by the workplace environment.  From the design of laboratories to loading docks and from classrooms to the CEO's offices, air quality, lighting levels, acoustics, and ergonomic factors are just a few of the many important considerations. "We shape our buildings," wrote Winston Churchill, "and afterwards, our buildings shape us."
