A New Cancer, Heart, Lung and Vascular Center
Project Details | |
| SIZE: | 38,000 sq.ft. |
| COMPLETED: | 2004 |
| CATEGORY: | New Construction |
| LOCATION: | Morristown, TN |
| OWNER: | Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System |
This project, one of the first phases of the Morristown-Hamblen's "master plan" designed by LGA was constructed in 2004. The three-story addition to the existing hospital consists of a Heart, Lung and Vascular Center complete with a Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit on the top floor; a new Cancer Treatment Center with full-service patient care in Radiation Therapy and a Chemotherapy Infusion Center on the second floor; and Medical Records / Staff Services, including an Educational Conference Center that occupies the lowest floor. By moving the existing departments from the main hospital to this three-story addition, other growing departments, such as the Emergency Department and Imaging, will have the opportunity to expand into previously occupied space for a more functional and efficient patient and staff flow. The architecture of the addition sets the stage for a new visual identity for the hospital by informing the architecture of subsequent additions and renovations
