This medical campus consists of an existing facility (Covenant Medical Plaza) and two newer facilities: a 50-bed replacement hospital with an emphasis on outpatient and diagnostic services, and a 30,000 sq. ft. Medical Office Building on an accessible 27+ acre site. The campus provides medical services to the rapidly growing population of East Tennessee, so its location and visibility are important. The concept for the new facility, developed through a joint venture with Barber McMurry Incorporated, seeks to maximize staff efficiency by minimizing travel distances. A large transparent curtain wall and a welcoming, expressive drop-off canopy celebrate the main hospital entrance and identify the start of the interior public circulation path. The exterior of the buildings is clad in two tones of brick - red and brown - to give the outside an appealing first impression. The warm and comfortable character of the hospital exterior is visibly maintained throughout the inside.
