The Holston Middle School project consists of extensive renovations to the existing school and the addition of a new classroom wing. Special attention was given to the design of the image of the school in order to create a new identity for this former high school building. The classroom wing creates a new facade and defines the edge of a new secure courtyard for student use. Modifications were also made to the vehicular circulation around the school. Separation of car and bus traffic was achieved by the addition of a second entrance and drop-off circle, creating a safer environment for the students.
