The construction of a new 15,000 sq. ft. branch library offered an opportunity to create a much-needed landmark in the suburban area of Halls in Knox County. With its brick, precast concrete, and stacked stone exterior, the elegant facade raises the bar for future buildings in the surrounding area. The clock tower creates a distinctive icon for the library and for the Halls area. The stacked stone, arched entryways, and creative ceiling treatments give the library interior a unique and inviting presence. This library won the Orchid Award from Keep Knoxville Beautiful in 2005.
