As a life-long resident of Cleveland, Mr. Caywood lives on their family farm with his wife and three sons. He graduated from The University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1998 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Education at Lee University. He has gained experience in various project types including educational, healthcare, commercial, and multi-family residential at firms in Knoxville, Tennessee; Dalton, Georgia; and Cleveland, Tennessee. He is licensed in Tennessee, Georgia, and Ohio.
After owning his own design firm in Cleveland, Tennessee for six years, Mr. Caywood joined LGA in 2013 as the managing principal of the Cleveland Office. Current projects reflect Mr. Caywood’s focus on health and educational related facilities as well as energy efficient design. The firm’s projects have been featured in numerous editions of the Cleveland Daily Banner, including the first LEED certified residence in Bradley County.
In 2003, Mr. Caywood published his first book entitled The Designer’s Workspace: Ultimate Office Design. In 2013, he co-authored a chapter – ‘Green Schools as a Teaching Tool’ in a book entitled Marketing the Green School: Form, Function, and Future.
Mr. Caywood is also very involved in the community as he serves on the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, is a member of the Mainstreet Cleveland Design Committee, and is Co-Chair of Publications for the Rotary Club of Cleveland. He also coordinates the BEST partnership with Valley View Elementary School, through the Chamber of Commerce, which brings schools and businesses together in projects and initiatives. He has been instrumental in establishing the Community Recycling Program for the school and community, of which the program collected more recyclables than any other elementary school in the Bradley and Cleveland City school systems in 2015-2016.
